Sophie is a Flood Risk and Drainage engineer with more than 15 years’ experience, during which she has aimed to integrate sustainability principles in the foundations of scheme design to achieve multiple benefits
Sophie has worked on many complex and successful projects within the residential, commercial and education sectors, alongside area wide regeneration and naturalisation schemes. Her experience includes leading the flood risk and drainage input for Canada Water, a 19ha development in the heart of London. This project successfully incorporated the existing historic docks, aiming to redress water balance concerns where possible. Sophie also led the successful development at Blackhorse Yard, which required consideration of complex pluvial (overland surface water runoff) flood risk issues, which is an emerging design consideration for planning applications.
Sophie has a collaborative approach, working with the design team to ensure that SuDS and flood mitigation measures maximise the potential of development, alongside providing environmental benefits as part of Logika’s wider green infrastructure offer.
Prior to joining Logika, Sophie led and managed Waterman’s Flood Risk and Drainage team in their London centre of excellence.
