Greenwich Peninsula was a heavily industrialised part of London that has been undergoing a major transformation since English Partnerships (now Homes England) purchased 121 hectares of disused land and invested over £225m to decontaminate the site, enhance the transport network and create new homes, commercial space, community facilities, parkland and public space along the river.
Working for Lend Lease and Quintain, Logika staff led the landscape masterplan to support Terry Farrell’s masterplan for post-millennium mixed-use development including 10,000 new homes on the site.
The landscape masterplan was a condition of the outline consent used to guide various future designers in providing a coherent response at each phase.
Liaising closely with the Environment Agency, due to the extensive Thames river frontage, environmental and social issues such as biodiversity, sustainable drainage, amenity, movement and character were addressed and formed a key part of the outline consent.
